Privacy Policy

Floodlights is a personal diary of the cricket matches you watch, at the ground or on TV. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We keep the data we hold to the minimum the app needs to work.

1. Who we are

Floodlights ("we", "us") is an independent app operated by Mizan Ali. For any privacy question, contact mizanxali26@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information

• Email address: used to create and sign in to your account. We support Google sign-in, Sign in with Apple (on iPhone and iPad), and email one-time codes only; we never store a password. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email, and we only see Apple's private relay address.
• Username: chosen by you and shown on your public profile.
• Avatar image: optional, if you upload one.

Content you create

• Match logs: the matches you record from our catalog, whether you watched each at the ground or on TV (and, at the ground, which day), plus any rating, supported team, or note you add.
• Discussion: the replies you post on other users' notes, and your up and down votes on notes and replies.
• Social connections: the accounts you follow and who follows you.

Technical information

• Basic, standard server logs (such as request timestamps) generated by our hosting providers to operate and secure the service.
• Diagnostic logs: when the app talks to our servers or hits an error, it records what happened along with your account's internal ID (a random identifier, not your email or username), the app version, your device's operating system, and whether you were online. We use these only to find and fix bugs.
• Reports and blocks: when you report a note, reply, or profile, we store what you reported and that you reported it; when you block someone, we store that too. Neither is shown to the other person.
• Push token: if you allow notifications, a token that lets us send notifications to your device. It's removed when you sign out or delete your account.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

3. How we use your information

• To create your account and authenticate you.
• To store your match logs and compute your stats, map, and profile.
• To power social features (search, profiles, follows, the friends activity feed, and match discussions).
• To send push notifications: new matches to log, new followers, replies to your notes, upvote milestones on your notes, and friends logging a match you logged. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's notification settings.
• To review reports and keep objectionable content off the app.
• To diagnose crashes and errors.
• To respond to your support requests.

4. What's public

Floodlights has no private accounts. Your username, avatar, match logs (including notes), replies, stats, trophies, and follower/following lists are visible to other signed-in users of the app. Vote counts on notes and replies are shown, but not who cast them. Your email address is never shown to other users. Please don't write anything in a note or reply that you wouldn't want other users to see.

5. Service providers

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We use a small set of processors purely to run the app:

• Supabase: database, authentication, and storage of your avatar image.
• Cloudflare: hosting for our API.
• Axiom: storage of the app's diagnostic logs.
• Expo: delivery of push notifications, through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Google: only if you choose Google sign-in, to verify your identity.
• Apple: only if you choose Sign in with Apple, to verify your identity.
• Apple App Store / Google Play: app distribution.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. If you can't access the app, email mizanxali26@gmail.com from your account's email address to request deletion. Deleting your account permanently removes your account, username, profile, match logs and notes, replies, votes, follows, push tokens, and uploaded avatar from our systems. This action cannot be undone.

Nothing identifying you is kept after deletion. Your data is removed immediately and permanently. We don't maintain separate database backups, so there are no residual copies to restore from. Diagnostic logs carry only your account's internal ID, which no longer links to you once the account is gone, and they expire automatically.

7. Children

Floodlights is rated for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Your rights

You can access and update your profile in the app, and delete all of your data via account deletion. For any other request regarding your data, email mizanxali26@gmail.com and we'll help.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
